Location and facilities for Bedford Lock

Bedford Lock is located on the Bedford Ouse was restored in 1955 and was officially opened the following year, 1956.

Bedford is now known amongst boaters for its low bridge heights so bare this in mind when you are navigating.

Bedford Town Bridge is considered the head of navigation but smaller craft are able to get to the official head of navigation at Kempston Mill.
